About me

I write to live and live to write

Remember to check out resources throughout the site.

The Point of the Quill. Writing’s hard, but it doesn’t have to hurt. Since mankind has made tools, they’ve made writing tools; even to etch out a buffalo on a cave wall. Whether it’s a stick, a quill, a pen or a computer, we write because we must write. That’s the point of the quill.

A reminder that your Writer’s Toolkit is updated everyday. There are some new and important posts in the toolkit that directly relate to other writers’ sites you may subscribe to or are treasures that you have yet to discover!

And the real welcome with tidbits about me:

Hi and welcome.. Take a tour, read whatever strikes your fancy. I am here to help you write. I am also here to help you overcome the hurdles you find in the course of writing. Why do so many people find it so hard to write? Why is it one of the most discussed subjects in writing? Why is writer’s block one of the most talked about subjects? I am here to help you overcome the obstacles.

I love the intersection between writing and the workings of the brain

Sign up for the newsletters and I will give you tips on how the knowledge I have can help you in your writing quest– no matter if it is writing a blog, freelancing, writing short stories or writing a book.

Draw your readers in with the knowledge gleaned from what I write and send to you in newsletters. It will make you a better storyteller and that’s the whole point of the quill.

I have a hard science degree in psychology and am a writer. I also have a disease which sometimes gets in the way of my writing but I never give it the power to overcome me. Let me help you overcome your obstacles to writing. Relax, grab a drink and join a rapidly growing group of writers and book lovers in a conversation about our craft and its impact. Or, if you wish to contact me personally (see the contact page), we can discuss your particular issues and work to overcome them together. It’s always easier when you have someone to bounce ideas off of and discuss solutions. Let’s find solutions together.

Some more tidbits of my life: I have been writing all of my life. Most recently helping those in academia write their official C.V.

I am in the process of writing a book after finishing a wonderful career in theater administration. I am an alumnus of Mizzou with an Arts & Science degree. I have two more books to finish after the wip (work in progress).

I freelance as well. If you wish to contact me about a writing assignment, please write me at info@thepointofthequill.com.

Bragging rights…or not:

Remember this guy?

Of course motivation is not permanent. But then, neither is bathing; but it is something you should do on a regular basis.

Ziglar

I got up at 4:30a.m. for one year during high school to attend a Zig Ziglar motivational classes prior to the start of the school day. And no boy was a motivating factor in this decision.

But don’t worry. I promise never to quote him beyond the above quote!

Other interests in addition to my writing:  reading, literature and literature theory, the writing process, visual and performing arts. I am taking a course now in Gamification through the Wharton School of Business and am in an intensive at A List-Bloggers. You can find me on Twitter, Linkedin, Google Plus, Facebook. I am in many writing forums, including SheWrites and Writer.com among a slew of other writer and blogger forums.

I will use my knowledge to help you. Leave me a comment about what you are struggling with or need to further understand. I am at your disposal. I will help find the solutions to your problems. I will also keep you up to date on all of the new software and technology available for you, the writer and you, the reader.

Leave a few lines below and let my know what you need.

My best to you.

Lee
