Guest Post Submission Guidelines

If you wish to submit a guest post to The Point of the Quill, please contact Lee Tyler at info@thepointofthequill.com. You can use the contact page on the top bar to send an email telling of your interest in submitting a post.

When submitting a post, it should be from your email with your full name and two attachments:
1) The post itself for perusal, editing and discussion
2) a head-shot of you in jpg format that is professional in style.Include in this your by-line with information about your website and a short description about what your blog covers as well as one social link. Most prefer to include their Twitter handle. The article should follow along the lines of this website running the gamut seen in The Writer’s Toolkit. You may also include a quick mention of any other blogs for which you have guest posted and add one of your social media contacts in addition to your own website.

Word count : Please note how long the average post on this site runs and make your guest post article to match:. 500 to 750 is the norm.

Most important: make sure that you have links backing up your post and that you hyperlink them in the format that you send as an attachment to me.

Let’s make sure for my readers, my site, you and the community at large that we are all a good fit. Is your voice and topic in the same tone and temper of this blog? Is there a subject that would fit this blog that you can add a twist to for the benefit of my readers; ultimately our readers when your guest post is accepted? I will also want you to reply to each of the comments as is the norm in guest posting. This may include me forwarding a comment after the week has passed beyond your posting date.

Please make yourself familiar with the posts already published on this site. I will not consider a guest post pitch of an article quite similar to that which my readers have already read.
I will also add you to  The Writer’s Toolkit under the heading that most fits your website.

The Format:
Pictures: .jpg with size no larger than the article post images as seen. Please send your photo as well for inclusion.
You must send a note to me covering the authority of use and any image credits must be included in the post, if required by the image website.
